The Spy In The Stalls

The UK premiere of Starcrossed played at Wilton's Music Hall for a successful run, beginning 25 June, 2022.

Starcrossed is Rachel Garnet's retelling of Shakespeare's classic love story Romeo and Juliet - a fresh new take on the story of the star-crossed lovers... Tybalt and Mercutio. The production was directed by Philip Wilson (Offie Finalist - Best Director of a Play).

The critically acclaimed cast (Offie nominated for Best Ensemble) included Connor Delves as Mercutio, Tommy Sim’aan as Tybalt (Stage Debut Award Nominee) and Gethin Alderman

as The Player.

A LOVE SPRUNG FROM HATE

What if Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet had told a different story?

Mercutio and Tybalt. Sworn enemies and…fated lovers.

In this fresh twist on the world’s most iconic love story, Starcrossed unveils the intrigue and passion of a forbidden romance forged in strife, stifled by circumstance and silenced by history.

Reimagining Shakespeare’s verse for the modern age, Rachel Garnet’s tender, witty and heart-wrenching new play gives beloved characters new life, and received critical acclaim, both as its premiere at the New York International Festival and during its London premiere in 2022.
